What actually happens
- You arrive together and each fill in a short form about pressure preference and any medical points.
- You change separately, then go into the same treatment room.
- Two therapists work simultaneously, usually keeping roughly in step with each other.
- You can talk or not. Most couples talk for the first ten minutes and then stop.
- Afterwards there is usually tea, and at hotel spas often access to the steam room or pool.

One hour or 90 minutes?

Booking a couples treatment
- Book earlier than you would for one person. Most branches have only one or two couples rooms.
- Say it's an anniversary or birthday. Many spas add something small.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Two consultations take longer than one.
- Don't book back-to-back with dinner. Leave an hour; you will not want to rush out.
- Different preferences are fine. One of you can have firm pressure and the other light.
